Walmart has started testing the local pick-up option for its on-demand shopping service in Denver. Walmart To Go already has a home delivery feature for general merchandise and groceries ordered online, according to TechCrunch.

Walmart To Go's local pick-up option will allow the company's Denver customers to order groceries online and pick them up from a nearby establishment. The company will call up the customers when their orders are ready and they can just swing by a nearby store on their way home to pick up the merchandise, the report explained.

To date, the online shopping service has processed hundreds of grocery deliveries in Denver. The said service has received a 4 or 5out of 5 rating in customer surveys, the report detailed.

The retail chain has also been testing home delivery of groceries in San Francisco and San Jose since 2011. In addition to the two cities, Northern Virginia, Philadelphia, and Minneapolis are the test sites for same-day order delivery as of October 2012, the report said.

Grocery pick-up option is currently available in 11 stores in Denver, TechCrunch.
