The US team led by one point over the International team at the close of Day One of the Presidents Cup. The US team is composed of Tiger Woods, Brandt Snedeker, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kuchar, Jason Dufner, Keegan Bradley, Steve Stricker, Bill Haas, Hunter Mahan and Zach Johnson. The International team, meanwhile has Adam Scott, Jason Day, Charles Schwartzel, Ernie Els, Louis Oosthuizen, Hideki Matsuyama, Branden Grace, Graham DeLaet, Richard Sterne and Angel Cabrera as members. The score was 3 ½ - 2 ½ in favor of the Americans.

The International team made a comeback after an 82-minute rain delayed the game, Yahoo Sports reported. Team Captain Nick Price said they were happy with the score. ''It would have been nice to be at 3-each, but compared to where we were on the front nine we made a great effort coming back.''

In an interview with The Bleacher Report, World Golf Foundation Chief Executive Officer Steve Mona said this year's Presidents Cup would produce anywhere from USD 40 million to USD 50 million in revenues for its host Central Ohio. He said the tickets were already sold out and the 140,000 spectators would be watching the four-day sporting event.
