Meta Expands Generative AI Advertising Tools

Reuters reported that in a press conference, Meta's executives highlighted these new AI ad tools, which can automatically produce various images and overlay text on top of them.

The tool will initially launch in a test phase without the watermarking typically applied to user-generated content by Meta's AI assistant, known for its safety features.

John Hegeman, Meta's head of monetization, explained that the firm was still refining how labeling will function for advertisements and intends to provide guidelines by the anticipated global rollout toward the end of this year.

This development aligns with Meta's significant investment in generative AI models, aiming to demonstrate to advertisers the benefits of automating creative campaign aspects.

AI Tools for Ads

Earlier this year, Google also unveiled a comparable expansion of AI tools for ads. Google's initiative includes labeling ads using SynthID watermarking technology created by its AI research lab, DeepMind.

Meta's image generation tool allows advertisers to upload product images and create variations, adjusting orientation or showing products in various settings.

Additionally, it enhances text-generation capabilities for headlines and key selling points, enabling direct text overlay on generated images.
