Charlotte's well-loved Amélie's French Bakery is facing a security breach as its Facebook page was hacked, prompting concerns about online safety for businesses and customers.
"We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and want to assure you that protecting your information and maintaining the security of our online platforms is our top priority," the bakery said Thursday, as reported by WCNC.
Through Instagram stories, the bakery is keeping its audience informed about the status of its Facebook page, alongside sharing news and offerings.
Following the breach, Amélie's urged customers to report the hacked page, which now appears as 'Cutie Bakery & Café.'
"Unfortunately, our Facebook page was hacked. Please report," The bakery's Instagram post read.
The page has 54,000 followers as of writing.
Amélie's French Bakery, a beloved establishment founded in 2008 in Charlotte's NoDa neighborhood, has become a culinary staple known for its French-inspired pastries, soups, salads, and sandwiches.
With a focus on fostering community and providing comfort and nourishment, the bakery has grown to encompass four locations in Charlotte, North Carolina, and one in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
