Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Huawei formally entered the Saudi Arabian market, vying for a place in the hotly contested smartphone industry sales race. The frontrunners in the country remain to be global leaders Apple, Blackberry, and Samsung. However, the company said that it will fight for a place in the local Saudi smartphone industry.

During the company's unveiling of the Ascend P6 in the capital city of Riyadh, Huawei sad that the company is aiming to place well on the Saudi Arabian market "today or tomorrow, at most." Mobily, one of Saudi Arabia's largest telecommunications network, partnered with Huawei for the distribution of the new smartphone.

Officials of the Chinese company said that almost 100,000 will be shipped to Saudi Arabia, and Huawei intends to sell every single piece. According to analysts, the goal is not at all difficult, considering Mobily's after-sale bonuses and gimmicks are extremely popular to the Saudi Arabian consumers.

According to the Arab Advisers Group, Apple had 40% market share in Saudi Arabia. Surprisingly, Blackberry managed to beat Samsung mainly because of Arab-language applications, according to analysts.
