Campaign Team of Joe Biden Raises $10 Million in 24 Hours After SOTU

According to NBC News, the $10 million was a record for Joe Biden's re-election effort. Nielsen Market Research reported that around 32.2 million people watched Biden's SOTU address on broadcast or cable television, 18% higher than last year's 27.3 million viewers.

Biden's attacks against former President Donald Trump seemed to have played a crucial role in attracting millions of viewers. In his speech, Biden said the former president "seek to bury the truth" about the January 6, 2021 Capitol insurrection.

He also said Trump was "bowing down" to Russian President Vladimir Putin before telling the crowd: "I will not bow down." Biden has never said Trump's name but instead slammed him 13 times as merely "my predecessor."

Campaign Fund of Joe Biden in January

According to Reuters, the $10 million haul was notable given the Biden campaign and his Democratic Party allies raised over $42 million in January, which came in via 116,000 donations from 113,000 contributors.

The total reportedly builds on the president's early financial advantage over his likely rival in the 2024 presidential race, Donald Trump.

Joe Biden's campaign proper reportedly had $56 million in the bank in January, while the Democratic National Committee had $24 million. On the other hand, Trump's campaign team and the Republican National Committee had $30 million and $9 million on hand, respectively.

"Ten million dollars in 24 hours. To quote the boss, that's a BFD [big f***ing deal]. We thank our grassroots supporters who are motivated more than ever to reelect President Biden and Vice President [Kamala] Harris," Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said in a statement, as NBC News reported.

"We send our condolences to the other guy and his flailing, poor campaign. Turns out attacking women's rights, cutting taxes for the rich, and attacking American democracy isn't exactly a winning message," she added.

As Biden leans into his cash edge, his  reelection campaign team announced a $30 million ad blitz on Saturday. They said it will target key battleground states in the next six weeks.
