According to iDigitalTimes, the Huawei Mate 8 has started to be on sale last December 9. As of the moment, the device is made available exclusively in China. However, there is a speculation that the smartphone could see availability in the U.S. after it's showcased at Consumer Electronics Show in January.

NDTV Gadgets reported the features and specifications that the Huawei Mate 8 carries. The phablet is a metal-clad dual-SIM (Nano-SIM cards) supporting device that runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is skinned with the company's Emotion UI. The second SIM slot doubles as the microSD card slot.

Apart from that, the Huawei Mate 8 is also armed with a 16-megapixel rear-facing camera powered by Sony IMX298 sensor with OIS, f/2.0 aperture, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and 1.12um pixel size, alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper with Sony IMX179 sensor and f/2.4 aperture. It is powered by a 4000mAh battery and offers Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS, DLNA, Bluetooth, 4G, and NFC connectivity options. A circular fingerprint sensor is placed below the rear camera of the Mate 8.

As for the devices price, Christian Today stated that the price tag starts at CNY 2,999 ($470) for the base model which has 3 GB of RAM and 32-GB internal storage while the other version which has a 4-GB RAM with 64-GB internal storage variation is priced much higher at CNY 3,699 ($580). The highest price tag for regular editions of the new Huawei Mate 8 is CNY 4,399 ($690), with the unit having 4 GB of RAM and a 128-GB storage.

The aforementioned prices are just for the regular editions of the new device. The industry follower added a fourth version, a premium Champagne Edition, which is tagged at CNY 6,888 ($1075).

If the rumors are to be believed, potential US buyers won't have to wait much longer as Huawei Mate 8 might be launched at the CES 2016. However, this is only provisional until the company gives the confirmation about its release.
