HTC One M9 owners located in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) will now receive their much anticipated Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

Christian Post cited that the wait for users in the region is finally over as HTC Product and Service Director Graham Wheeler announced the update via twitter. The updated, according to the website, will give users enhancement such as volume, contact apps, and quick setting, just to name a few. However, the most important thing that the update will be bringing is bug fixes and stability improvements that the 5.0 failed to deliver.

On related news, although the Android 5.1 Lollipop update enhanced some features for Samsung's Galaxy S6 it did something big with regards to the unit's battery, it consumes more than ever and this is what HTC One M9 users are hoping to not happen on their mobile phones, News Softpedia reported.

Another bizarre issue of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update was error messages that pops-out, from thin air, such as "Hangout has stopped". The issue might be tolerable could have been it happens once or twice, but apparently it pops out every few hours.

On the other hand, the Taiwan-based company has not released any statements regarding the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for their HTC One M9, HTC One M8 or to any older models, IB Times pointed out, considering that other carriers in the US have rolled out their Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for their customers.

Although, the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the HTC One M9 or other phones is still hanging in the balance, HTC's Jeff Gordon confirmed that the HTC One M9 and HTC One M9 +, and other HTC phones will receive the Android M update once it will be released. In addition, another HTC exec, Mo Versi, who works for HTC as their VP for product management also announced that the HTC One M8 will also receive the Android M update.

With the Android 5.1Lollipop update, HTC hopes that the HTC One M9 will pick up from its poor performance specifically in the EMEA regions.
