HTC One M9 Android 5.1 Lollipop Update Released; AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile Offers The Same For Their Devices

Finally, the HTC One M9 will have its much awaited Android 5.1 Lollipop update. The update will be featured both on units that are currently under development and those who are sold by Sprint and AT&T.

GSMArena said that the new software will be finally rolled out to all handsets sold at Sprint and AT&T. Aside from the software update, the new release will also include a more improved battery packs, Google Wallets, and an anti-theft feature that is built into the operating system. After the update, GSM Arena said that the device will now run on software version 2.7.531.6.

On related news, AndroidPolice also said that T-Mobile has finally caught up with Sprint and AT&T due to the software update. The phone service provider will also boast, aside from the operating system update, a more improved camera for their flagship device the HTC One M9. The update will carry an 833 MB load and the download will not be included on the company's metered internet connection service.

The operating system update will also feature a security against unauthorized factory settings, according to PhoneArena. Before a user can reset the phone, the updated security features of the Android 5.1 Lollipop will require its users to have at least one registered Google account that is made through the phone. It can be downloaded through either the phone's software update app or via Google Play.

Android 5.1 Lollipop update has been released on HTC One M9 by TMobile last July 27 and will bear the name 2.7.531.6 once the update has been made.

The HTC One M9 was launched officially last March. It has a 5-inch display with 1080x1920 pixel that makes the images sharp and colorful. It is also equipped with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 to avoid unwanted dents and scratches. HTC One M9 also boasts its 20MP primary camera and a 4MP secondary snapper.
