Microsoft may unveil a Lumia 1050 with Snapdragon 820 processor and an advanced camera sensor to be the 'ultimate Lumia device' in 2016. The Microsoft Lumia 1050 could be the next successor to the Lumia 1020.

Rumors abound that Microsoft would be launching the 'ultimate Lumia device' in 2016 2016 in the form of Microsoft Lumia 1050. The rumored device could house a Snapdragon 820 processor and an advanced camera sensor that may support 4K video recording.

Geek Snack reported that a reliable source confirmed a Microsoft Lumia 1050 is in the making. It will reportedly be unveiled by Microsoft in March next year.

The report added that the Microsoft Lumia 1050 would have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, 128 GB internal memory, 4 GB of RAM, and expandable storage. The Snapdragon 820 is said to be featured in future flagships next year. It suggests that the Lumia 1050 could launch next year with the latest Snapdragon processor on board.

There is a possibility that the Lumia 1050 will be geared towards photographers and video enthusiasts because of its rumored advanced camera technology.

Camera-wise, the Microsoft Lumia 1050 is rumored to have a cutting-edge camera sensor that is more advanced than the current PureView cameras in Microsoft's devices. According to the source, the sensor would be capable of optical zoom, advanced optical image stabilization, and 4K output. The Lumia 1050 could also have integrated Azure cloud storage.

Venture Capital Post reported that the Microsoft Lumia 1050 could be the next successor to the Lumia 1020. Earlier reports have said that the next in line to the Lumia 1020 will be a Lumia 1040.

Meanwhile, the current flagship of the Microsoft Lumia 10xx line is the Lumia 1020. With its camera technology, the Lumia 1020 is apt for professional photographers as per a report by Yibada.  

The rumors about the Microsoft Lumia 1020 are to be taken with a grain of salt. Microsoft has not yet confirmed that a new Lumia 1050 phone will come in 2016.
