The superhero family of Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Dash, Violet, and Jack Jack will have to wait for a couple more years before they hit the big screen once again with The Incredibles 2. Director Brad Bird revealed that some ideas from the previous film will be incorporated in the sequel.

During his talk with Comingsoon.net, Bird admitted that the idea of creating a sequel could not have made The Incredibles 2 immediately after the first film. According to Brad, some of the ideas in the sequel were leftovers from the previous film since he had little scenes and points he was interested in. He also further noted that for the sequel, he wanted "an over-arching idea that connected to the first film that went somewhere different".

"I don't think I could have made this movie right away. Nor would I want to. I always want to break things up with something else.", Bird said. Moreover, while details about the plot are currently under wraps, Christian Post reported that speculations are rampant on the movie suggesting that Edna Mode and Jack Jack could be the villain in the sequel.

Also as noted by Australia Network News, it would be interesting how the film will proceed with the sequel as two possibilities are currently available for the sequel. One, is if it will pick up immediately after the events of the previous film, and the other one is if it will take a time leap, which will also be a determining factor if the Parr Family's powers will affect their aging process.

The Incredibles 2 is currently in its early stage of development as Bird revealed that he has already been able to finish three quarters of the film's script. More details are expected to be revealed for the film when production progress and details will be delivered as they come. The Incredibles 2 is slated to hit theaters on June 21, 2019.
