Michael Bay, who has directed all the Transformers movies, is in talks to return for the 5th installment of the blockbuster franchise. While Bay has said earlier that he wants to try a different movie direction, his confirmation of the negotiations for his return say otherwise.

According to Cinema Blend, with production starting in June, Bay is already being negotiated to come back for 'Transformers 5'. Considered as the "driving creative force" of the franchise, many were confused by Bay's statements that indicate that he will leave the massive robot movie series to take "a new direction" in movies.

Despite allegedly having plans that does not include 'Transformers 5', Bay himself has confirmed that he still is interested with the movie, given that he's openly negotiating with Steven Spielberg. Anyhow, nothing is official, yet.

According to Deadline Hollywood, 'Transformers 5' has a concrete blueprint now, courtesy of the Transformers Writers Room supervised by Akiva Goldsman. Goldsman will be writing the script for the treatment that was presented to Spielberg, Bay, Paramount and other producers.

The Transformers Writers Room included Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down), Andrew Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari (Ant-Man),  Robert Kirkman (Walking Dead), Art Marcum & Matt Holloway (Iron Man), Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand, Pacific Rim 2), and Jeff Pinkner (Amazing Spider-Man 2, Lost),  and Steven DeKnight (Spartacus, Daredevil)  and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer who is a "science major at Stanford" and has "written original specs in the sci-fi and fantasy genre."

As reported by Coming Soon, an animated spinoff is also product of writers' brainstorming for 'Transformers 5'.  Barrer & Gabriel Ferrari will develop the animated feature, whichi will be an origin story focusing on Cybertron, the origin planet of all Transformers whether good or bad.

Reportedly, five of the nine pitches have potential as movies. Within three years, it is hoped that the writers will develop the outlines into full fledged scripts. Apparently, the order of things will be Goldsman first, then the animated movie script, then a script by Jeff Pinkner, followed by Lindsey Beer's.

Mark Wahlberg is rumored to return, despite his earlier statement of having never done a sequel and passing on the 'Transformers 5' baton to other actors. Megan Fox, who was fired by Spielberg after the 2nd movie due to her Hitler comments about director Michael Bay, is also being rumored to return in the fold.
