Mobile carriers AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon are stuck with the Android 5.1 Lollipop for HTC One M9 units but hopes are high that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will come to the smartphone. Last month, HTC executive Mo Versi already revealed that the Marshmallow software is indeed coming to HTC One M9 units.

HTC has confirmed the Android 6.0 Marshmallow's rollout but the exact date has not been released. Most One M9 units are still stuck with Lollipop's first major maintenance release.

Since Versi had already unveiled that Marshmallow is hitting One M9 soon, does this mean the update will go out in public later this month as it debuts? The Taiwanese tech firm however remains silent about the report.

What is certain for now, HTC is bound for an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Major mobile carriers in the United States are reported on the verge preparing native updates for Android 6.0 Marshmallow as it is set to release by the end of September. However, there is no final word yet from the carrier if indeed it is releasing the update as soon as before this month ends.
