Robert Downey. Jr. is likely to continue his reign as the  highest paid actor internationally  as Director Shane Black said he's sure that he will return for Iron Man 4. The ongoing discussion about Downey Jr.'s pay is the alleged cause of the film's delay.

As reported by Australia Network News, Downey Jr has been dubbed to be the highest paid actor in the international scene after earning $80 million in the past 12 months, and if Director Black's words are to go by, he is likely to continue  his reign for a few more years.

Iron Man 4 is still a go, according to reports, however, the cause of the delay of production for is Downey Jr's demand for a higher pay. It was previously reported that Downey Jr currently demands a $50 million salary increase, if ever he is to don the Iron Man suit again.

According to Movie News Guide , given Iron Man movies' $1.2 billion worldwide box office income, Marvel is reportedly not closing its doors pertaining to the upcoming film, however, the only current cause of debate is the right amount with which both parties can settle in.

Downey Jr reportedly earned $80 million for Avengers: Age of Ultron, and is also set to get $40 million for his appearance in Captain America: Civil War where he is set to go head to head against America's superhuman war hero.

Previous reports suggest that if Downey Jr opts to bow out of the project, Jurassic World young actor Ty Simpkins could be the next person to don the Iron Man suit after the Marvel Cinematic Universe concludes its Phase 3. However, Simpkin's involvement in the upcoming film has not been officially confirmed yet.

Plot and release date details are scarce, since the film is still in its early stages of pre-production, but more details are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
