Apple's iPad once dominated the tablet market but that was before. For six straight quarters, the once-dominant iPad was declining in both popularity and sales, that is why Apple is planning to release an improved iPad Pro in the coming months, to hopefully regain the throne that once belonged to the iPad.

As claimed by CNET, since the recent release of new Apple technologies such as the Force Touch which revolutionized the MacBook trackpads and Apple Watches, Apple's goal for the iPad might happen. The website also pointed out that the incoming iPad Pro might also be unveiled together with the iPhone 6s and Apple TV in either the 7th or 9th of September at an event.

Meanwhile, Apple dedicated website Mac World noted that the iPad Pro might be formally launched before Christmas, contrary to what CNET reported that it will be unveiled in September. Mac World cited the statement of KGI Securities Analyst Ming Chi Kuo that iPad Pro will be manufactured either September or October.  The website even went further by pointing out that the iPad's stylus will be supplied by Cheng Uei and will ship separately to the iPad Pro.

On the other hand, another Apple inspired tech publication, Mac Rumors, reported that the iPad Pro will sport a larger screen which is at 12.9 inches but, the website also reported that Samsung is also developing a tablet to compete with the iPad Pro and will rock a massive 18.4 inch screen.

The rumored Samsung tablet will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop will rock a TFT LCD screen with a 1920x1080 resolution. It was also rumored that the Samsung tablet codenamed Tahoe, will run on octa-core 64-bit 1.6GHz Exynos 7580 processor.

The move by Apple (and Samsung) to revive the iPad from a long slumber is both ambitious and feasible at the same time. With the proper timing and marketing strategy, iPad can be once again the king of the hill.
