Google launched their upcoming Android M in May and until now, the public is still trying to answer the most interesting question of them all, what does M stand for? Since Google followed the trend of naming their operating systems after the sweet treat varieties (KitKat and Lollipop), there are tons of speculations that it would go the same on the Android M?

GSM Arena pointed out that there are 3 standouts, the Milkshake, Muffin, and Marshmallow. Although the milkshake and muffin are very legit predecessors of the Lollipop, an insider video suggests that it would be the Marshmallow.

Marshmallow emerged as the victor or something like that, when alleged insiders, Nat and Lo, published a video in YouTube suggesting that Android M will be Android Marshmallow on its official release, iDigital Times cited.

The 1 minute and 7seconds video shows a musically driven clip which talks or sings about the next Android Name, the kicker was not on the video itself but at the end of it. Marshmallow was picked due to the last scene of the video where a guy, armed with a spray gun, seems to finish spray painting a gigantic marshmallow. Other than that, there were no other clues as to what will be the Android M's name.

The about to be released Android M promises tons of offering to its users. According to PC Advisor, one of the biggest adjustments done in Android M was its ability to detect if the phone is in use or not. If the phone is not in use, the operating system will automatically put the device into a sort of power saving mode.

Android M also boasts on its capability to provide longer battery life compared to its predecessors, the website added. It will also have the standard fingerprint sensor which will not only work as the device's unlocking system but also a security passcode for Google's Android Pay.

The Android M is set to make its debut as the Nexus 5's (2015) operating system on October.  Android Marshmallow or not, the features that the looming Android M looks to offer were impressive and might give the iOS 9 a very good fight in the operating system department.
