GoPro brand became popular to adventure seeker due to the camera's tough and strong built. Th company's upcoming GoPro's Hero 5 is rumored to be released within the year but the action camera might have to wait until 2016 comes.

According to ChristianToday, the GoPro enthusiast should wait a little longer than expected but the wait is all worth it. The GoPro Hero 5 was reported to be equipped with a feature that will allow the camera to capture 8K resolution videos at 60 frames per second and to shoot 3D mode. However, for those who can't wait to get their hands on the Hero 5, the equally durable and reliable Hero 4 is always available in the market as well as the Hero + LCD.

DayHerald also reported that the October 15 launched date of the Hero 5 was pushed back to next year to make way for the added features that the Hero 5 will offer. The Hero 5, on top of the staggering 8K resolution and 60 frames a second as well as the 3D mode, is also reported to withstand 60 meters depth water which makes the upcoming action capture camera very ideal for underwater videos.

The GoPro 5 was also rumored to be 50% smaller than the Hero 4, which makes it handier considering that the Hero 4 is just right, size and dimension wise, BidnessEtc said. The upcoming action camera is also rumored to be backed up by a new A10 processor by Advance Micro Device Inc. On top of that, the device will also flaunt a quad core CPU with up to 3.8GHz base clock and 4.2GHz turbo clock, under its hood.

GoPro was founded by Nick Woodman in 2002 after a surf trip in Australia. He was hoping to capture quality action photos during his surf trip, but due to the nature of the sport, it is impossible for photographers to get close and get good photos. The trip sparked Nick Woodman's creativity and started designing a camera who can do the trick.

Woodman initially raised a portion of GoPro's money through selling beads and shell belts, for not over than $20, inside his Volkswagen Van and later, added camera straps on top of the beads. However, what changed Woodman's fortune is when he finally got a $230,000 loan from his parents.

The company sold its first camera in 2004 which used a standard 35mm film. GoPro gained major success with their Hero camera series. it was first introduced in 2004 and in its first year, the Hero had a total of $150,000 profit.  By 2006, when the Digital Hero was introduced; the product made GoPro $800,000 richer. In 2008, GoPro's Digital Hero made a total of $3.4 million in sales, four times the money it made in 2006.

GoPro 5 is expected to be priced around $400 to $500, which is less, compared its older sibling's price.
