"The Incredibles 2" will be released in 2017 or 2018. After 10 years of the creation of the 2004 smash hit animated movie, "The Incredibles" sequel will finally hit theaters.

It has been a while since the existence of "The Incredibles 2" was confirmed but until now, the release date is still unknown. The earliest of the speculated release date of "The Incredibles 2" is November 22, 2017. Another likelihood is in June 15 2018; dates that are mostly based on the previous release dates that the studio was following.

Most rumors are claiming that the film will be ready around the end of 2017, or the beginning/middle of 2018. Those seem like logical timeframes for the production of a film like this, especially considering Brad Bird's claims about his current issues coming up with a good script.

Filmmaker Brad Bird's, "Tomorrowland," came out on May 22 and fans have been expecting that he will be working on "The Incredibles 2" once it's released. Being highly awaited by fans for a decade, it is a pressure even for a talented filmmaker like Bird. He is well aware of the excitement surrounding "The Incredibles 2" and understands that he definitely needs to deliver in the story and the characters like he did in 2004 in order for the follow-up to be a worthwhile successor to the original

One of the reasons it took him so long to sign on for a part two is the fact that it's important to focus on making another memorable character-driven story for "The Incredibles 2." There have been reports that the superhero family will be dealing with their old nemesis, Syndrome, once again.

The sequel is said to be set 10 or 11 years in the future, with the superhero siblings taking on their parents' superhero mantle. But Jack-Jack apparently cannot control his powers, leaving him vulnerable to Syndrome's manipulation. The film's resident villain then takes advantage of the frustration and anger the teenager feels and turns him against his family.

As exciting as it is that "The Incredibles 2" is becoming a reality, fans still have a long ways to wait for the project to actually reach the big screen.
