After more than a decade of waiting, The Incredibles 2 is finally in the works. Rumors about a trailer to be released later this year has been refuted, while the movie's plot is rumored to center on the Parr family. Also, the super hero family's youngest member might turn out to be the villain in the sequel,   after being unable to control his powers.

Pertaining to his progress in pre-production of The Incredibles 2, director Braad Bird previously revealed that he has started on brainstorming for the concept saying that it will be a mix of old and new ideas.  "Oh yeah I have pages, a bunch of pages. I had a lot of ideas for the original Incredibles that I didn't get a chance to use, that I like. I have ideas that I wanted to pursue a little bit and there wasn't enough time in Incredibles. There are new ideas I have, and I think there are enough of those together to make an interesting movie."  he said.

According to Brandt, the superhero aspect of the movie will just be taking the sidelines, as the idea of the characters being a family will be the main focus of the upcoming film. "For me, the interesting thing was never the superhero part of it. It was more the family dynamic, and how do superhero things play into that," Bird said.

Meanwhile, A fan-made rumor previously surfaced about a trailer for the movie being released this year. It has been proven false by other fans, although Pixar has not addressed the issue yet. If not this year, many believe that the most fitting date would be anytime in 2016.

Details are pretty scarce as of now, as the sequel is currently on its early stage in terms of pre-production, but fans who have been waiting for the sequel for more than a decade now have created plot theories about the film. One of the strongest theory says Jack Jack who will be 6 years old in The Incredibles 2 will eventually turn out to be the villain, because of his inability to control his powers.

No exact release date has been announced for the movie yet, although many speculate that it might hit theaters in November 2017, or June 2018. More details about the film will be revealed in the coming months.
