Andrew Lees is one of the newest additions in CW's "The Originals," set to play as one of the members of Klaus' sire line this season. Aside from the new cast members, season 3 will also see a lot of flashbacks that will include the return of one major recurring character.

Lees joins the hit CW supernatural series as Lucien, described as an intelligent and charming member of Klaus' sire line. Lucien has a secret mission that involves the Original hybrid and this will bring him to New Orleans, Australian Network News reported.

The site also wrote that the "The Pacific" actor will appear in the third episode of  the third season together with "Pretty Little Liars" actress Rebecca Reeds. Reed will play Aurora, a beautiful, sexy, enigmatic, and witty vampire.

According to executive producer Michael Narducci, "The Originals" season 3 will focus heavily on the Mikaelson's sire line as they have already existed for a long time now, Latin Post reported.

"We talked a lot about how the Mikaelsons have been around for 1,000 years and somewhere along the way, they probably turned a bunch of people into vampires," Narducci said

He then added, "What perspective do those sired vampires have - all of them, the remaining three sire lines - what do they think about the continued existence of the Mikaelson family? That's the seed for season 3."

Meanwhile, executive producer Julie Plec revealed that the upcoming season will see a lot of flashbacks, allowing Nathaniel Buzolic to keep playing his major recurring role in the CW series, according to TVLine. Buzolic, who plays Kol, expressed his happiness over the news.

"I'm incredibly grateful to Julie Plec for giving me that opportunity; being a part of that show has been a life-changing experience for me," the actor said.

New and recurring cast members are set to heat things up in "The Originals" when its flashback-heavy third season premieres this October on CW.
