"Super Smash Bros 4" has just recently released four additional characters which includes Ryu, Lucas, Memtwo and Roy. However gamers find the new DLC characters utterly and unnecessarily expensive. Patch update 1.0.9 does not bring any new game mechanics but it aims to enhance gameplay experience.

With the latest DLC, Nintendo has added four new crossovers in the video game "Super Smash Bros 4." These characters are Ryu from "Street Fighter," Lucas from "Mother 3," Memtwo from "Pokemon," and Roy from "Fire Emblem." It will also get new Mii Fighter costumes which were previously featured in "Virtual Fighter," "Tekken," and "Animal Crossing." In general, the latest update has left gamers worldwide a bit overwhelmed with the prices. Despite global success, The Guardian insisted that the new DLC is unnecessarily expensive.

Nintendo created a new marketing strategy through DLC. According to Tech Times, the latest DLC version 1.0.9 highlights Ryu from "Street Fighter." The character features his unique skills for technical executions, which are perfectly fit for the Smash series. Reviews even claim that it is set to be one of the series' best third-party inclusion yet. Ryu comes with a Suzaku Castle stage and is available for $5.99 on either Wii U or Nintendo 3DS; $6.99 for both versions.

Meanwhile, Roy and Lucas resemble the series' counterparts, existing characters of Marth and Ness. They are available for purchase worth $3.99 on Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, or $4.99 for both. With the similarity of the new characters from the old ones, gamers think that Roy and Lucas are not worth the purchase. However, for avid fans, experts claim that purchasing Ryu separately to experience the new update would properly suffice.

According to previous reports, the 1.0.9 update will not bring any major changes to the game itself, but rather to create slight enhancements for better gaming experience. It is custom-made for the Wii U although the game is both available for other platforms. The latest update is available for download at the Nintendo eShop. However, gamers are required to download the current game into the Wii U platform before the 1.0.9 patch can be installed.

Also known as "Super Smash Bros," the action-adventure video game was first released in Japan in September 2014, and launched worldwide a month after.
