It has been finally announced that the release of Lucas DLC to "Super Smash Bros." will be available for download in the upcoming month of June for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, though there is no exact date as of the moment. The announcement of the EarthBound character's DLC followed after the release of Pokemon's Mewtwo last April 15, 2015.

Smash Bros gains a few additional DLC characters as well, alongside with the brand new modes, levels, and stages to be featured. Among these, is the character of Lucas. Smash Bros is going to have him back, much to the fans' delight, and many enthusiasts are anticipating that Lucas will be reshowcased with new moves. Lucas is the protagonist in "Mother 3" and he previously appeared as a playable fighter in his first debut in the game "Super Smash Bros. Brawl".

The EarthBound character has not made an appearance in the following games ever since. And so, Lucas will be returning as an additional content in June for a price that will be announced later on . Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced during a Nintendo Direct presentation that Lucas from "Mother 3" is also coming to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS Nintendo consoles.

Ness is another EarthBound character, who will be joining Lucas in the game. Though players and fans of "Super Smash Bros." could only hope that the new addition to the game will contain new moves and will be offered at a much fairer price, much like Mewtwo which only costs $4. Nintendo continues to do polls for gamers to know which characters they want to be downloadable and as for the game's collectors, each character in the game will gain their own amiibo figures.

Lucas, will join his EarthBound brethren Ness in the fighting game sometime this June, after the release of the game's other confirmed downloadable fighter, Mewtwo. It has also been reported that Lucas will be released by Smash Bros a lot sooner than Mewtwo.
