Sony will not be releasing any of their consoles at this year's E3 event.  The highly anticipated release of the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 Slim will not happen this year. This was confirmed after Sony had announced that the company will not hold any press conference at the Games Con 2015. Aside from the E3, the Games Con is where Sony announces their flagship consoles and the slimmer versions and reportedly where the PS4 Slim will be launched. However, PS5 is said to be released with a VR Headset.

It was deemed to be too early for the company to launch their new flagship consoles at the E3 event on June and Games Con on August. Sony skipping both of these events hints that the company has something up its sleeve. Instead, Sony will be making a huge announcement at the international media briefing at Paris Games Week on October 27.  In this event, it was confirmed that they will be introducing the new Play Station 4 Slim.

"With the changes this year of E3 taking place a week later and Games Com taking place earlier, we feel both PlayStation and the wider industry would benefit from a major news milestone later in the year, during the most important period for gaming," Sony had revealed in an interview.

The Paris Game Week hosted by Sony, (skipping both E3 event and Games Con) aims to make a huge leap for their enterprise there. As you will note, the PlayStation 4 garnered greater sales compared to that of the PS2. Reaching 2 million sales in just a span of 18 months, the PS4 marked a milestone for Sony.  The PlayStation UK head Fergal Gara was noted claiming via MCV that this is "an achievement we are very proud of." The PS4 has currently sold 22.3 million consoles worldwide and is considered as one of the favorite consoles of most gamers.

It was also reported that the upcoming PS5 will be released with a VR headset. Since Sony had unveiled the upgraded Project Morpheus, it will be most likely to come out together with the PS5. The improved Project Morpheus will sport a 5.7 inch OLED screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The headset will support 3D audio and a brand new feature called social screen which enables the user to project their game to the nearby TV set for friends to view.

Sony is bound to bring forth consoles that will attain milestones for the company. Fans may need to wait for the Paris Game Week for the PS4 slim. However, a longer wait will be made for the PS5 whose release date is still in the works. Rest assured though, with the VR Headset, the PS5 will be a console to watch out for.
