Atlus has unveiled a batch of Persona 5 screencaps in impeccable hi-resolution graphics when PlayStation Japan website went live last week with a section showcasing the game's PS4 version. The screenshots appear to be taken directly from the game trailer released back in February in a full HD sharp, crisp look version.

The RPG's official website, PlayStation Japan, now exhibits the first batch of direct-feed screenshots providing the fans a glimpse at some excellent still frames.

It is apparent that Persona 5 setting is in Japan where the game heroes live as indicated by the metropollis trains, Japanese texts around and the fact that Atlus is based in Japan. It gives the developer the supreme ability to seamslessly depict the facets of its home country, the bustling city or a relaxing countryside town. Fans will, in the most authentic way, lose themselves in a modern day Japan setting in Persona 5 than in the game's predecessors.

The homeless three protagonists and their weird pet cat are secretly a band of thieves. They are out in streets, hang out in restaurants, and steal from demons for a living. The game's theme supposes the idea of not being boxed in an everyday life and Atlus is also including that romantic side of the thief hero in long capes, masks, and an excellent shot of his silhouette plastered against a full moon.

As we reported earlier, the highly anticipated Persona 5 PS4 release landed on the number 2 spot next to Final Fantasy 15 in the latest rankings of most wanted video game by the renowned Japanese gaming publication, Famitsu.

In the previous votes tallied, Final Fantasy 15 on PS4, Bravely Second on 3DS and Persona 5 for PS3 took first, second and third place, respectively. While these three titles remain to be on the top three spots, Persona 5 PS4 has climbed up to second place.

Needless to say, the next entry to the series is one of the big game releases anticipated this 2015 to hit PS3, PS Vita and PS4 consoles. Will Sony's attendance at E3 2015 this June could mean a release announcement for Persona 5? Stay tuned.
