Could Amanda Bynes become a celebrity dancer on Dancing With the Stars? Given the recent buzz around her in the media... maybe. The latest rumors claim that Bynes is in the running for a spot on the hit ABC dance reality show, and Bynes- a celeb who's been out of the spotlight for a little while and could use a boost- is certainly a strong candidate.

Bynes is nearly a lock for a career rebirth as a dancing reality star. "The producers think she'd be perfect," the source claims. "While Amanda has said no to reality TV before, our source says she is seriously considering it... if the price is right."

However, the deal isn't finalized yet, and since the publication of this first rumor, several others have come out claiming that Bynes won't, in fact, become a Dancing With the Stars star. But considering both the original claim and the denial are unconfirmed sources, it seems up in the air for now.

And while some might wonder that Bynes's current struggles with her parents, drugs and mental illness might bar her from appearing on the show, another source (from People, via Starcasm) claims she's feeling much better and in reality show shape.

"Amanda is doing much better from where she was months ago. She has her own apartment and is much happier. She and her parents are getting along and Amanda is clear-headed, more focused and has more independence."

Bynes recently made the news for a series of arrests (including drug charges and reckless endangerment), along with several stays in psychiatric care. She had also alleged that her father had molested her, then dropped the accusation, stating that a microchip in her brain forced her to accuse her father of sex abuse.

What do you think? If Bynes's past is behind her, would you watch her dance for a season on DWTS?
