Maksim Chmerkovskiy is returning to Dancing with the Stars! It was revealed in People that the ballroom dance champion will be making an appearance at the upcoming ABC 10th anniversary special for Dancing with the Stars, along with his partner Meryl Davis, who together won the championship in the show's 18th season. As well, they'll be appearing with Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson, the current champions. Other performers include Kristi Yamaguchi, Maria Menounos, Amber Riley and Melissa Rycroft will also be returning to the show, via People.

But there might be even more on the table for Chmerkovskiy and Davis. According to the latest DWTS rumors, could they be getting engaged? The couple's chemistry was legendary on the dancing reality show, so it wouldn't be a surprise.

Oddly, Chermkovskiy continues to deny that he and Davis are an item, despite the obvious clues that they are- their onstage chemistry, their onstage kissing, and the fact that they've regularly been seen going out on romantic dinner dates together. Says Chermkovskiy, to the Daily Mail:

'I think audiences are going to be very happy to see Meryl back on the stage. She has never done anything like this and is very excited about the opportunity. We are happy to have her with us this time, and to have Zendaya back again.'

'We aren't dating, and I don't think we will. She is very special. I care very deeply for Meryl. Our friendship is where it will be for many years. She is awesome to spend time with.'

The closeness between the two reality show dancers has prompted fans to call their relationship a "showmance," and the two also consult each other on business decisions- again, a clear sign that their relationship goes far beyond dancing on TV. Could they really be engaged? We might have to wait a little while longer to find out for sure.
