"Deadpool" has begun filming, which means that news, updates and (most importantly) set photos are about to start pouring in from the latest spin-off of the "X-Men" film franchise. And in latest set photos that have snuck online reveal something pretty major: the first image of a new character, Negasonic Teenage Warhead. The character, seen in the photo above (via ScreenRant), will be played by Brianna Hildebrand, and in the comics she's a mutant with telekinetic and precognative powers- although it's not yet clear if she's getting any kind of superpowered update in Deadpool.

As well, recent set photos have revealed the first looks at the film's villain, Ajax (played by Ed Skrein) and a CGI character that may end up being Colossus (who has not yet been cast). Although it might not be Colossus after all, considering that the set photos only show an unknown man dressed up in a motion capture suit with a large grey ball above his head. But given that Colossus was included in early casting rumors, that's probably who this mystery character is. Yet to be seen is Morena Baccarin as the film's love interest.

But while the first "Deadpool" movie films, the stage is quietly being set for more Deadpool movies in the future- perhaps even an entire Deadpool trilogy. TJ Miller, who'll be playing Deadpool's sidekick Weasel in the film, has just commented on where Fox wants to take "Deadpool" once this movie's finished filming. Says Miller (according to ComicBook.com):

"The movie is about the origin story [of Deadpool], because they want it to be the first installment of a franchise."

As well, Ryan Reynolds recently commented on the state of the comic book version of Deadpool, tweeting a photo of him, in full Deadpool costume... on the toilet. He also texted the words "smells like someone died up in here," clearly poking fun at the character's recent death in the comics.

Deadpool will premiere in theaters on February 12, 2016.
