Expectant buyers of the iPad Air and iPad Mini 3 must be prepared in October, as the new tablets are expected to be launched then. Official information could come on the September 9 Apple event where the new Apple iPhone 6 is to be revealed.

Despite the lack of official information on the specs of the upcoming products, many are already eyeing fall as the time of release following Apple's trend. Inquisitr is already talking about the display components for the new tablets being finished and the camera and sensors beginning production next month. According to the article, leaked images of the iPad's internal parts, including a GPS antenna, microphone, and Wi-Fi connectivity have already been released, with an even earlier leak showing the front and rear panel allegedly belonging to the iPad Air 2.

Inquisitr's article also shares that the same design and the same form factor can be expected from the two new tablets, but with an upgraded pixel resolution. The tablets will allegedly run on the new A8 processor and will pack the new iOS 8. A TouchID fingerprint senso, longer life, and upgraded back camera can also be expected from the new models. The iPad Air 2 is also suggested to have 2GB of RAM despite being thinner; it could also sport an anti-reflective coating.

The two updated iPad models are anticipated in October, with Apple possibly giving more information come September 9, the official release date of the iPhone 6. The highly anticipated iWatch is also expected to be released then. If the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3 are not unveiled together in October, Christian Post thinks that iPad Air 2 could be slated for a November release, which is the same month last year that the first version was unveiled. Come 2015, The Epoch Times predicts that Apple will be showcasing a stylus-using 12.9-inch iPad currently dubbed as the iPad Pro.

Apple's expected release of the new tablets are further backed up by the prices of the current models being reduced. According to Christian Today, the prices were reduced in time for students to go back to school, with iPad Air 2 being given a $67 discount from its normal price of $499. Meanwhile, iPad Mini with Retina Display, which costs $399, is now up for $347, earning buyers over $50 off. This follows the $30 reduction from the price of the iPad Air as educational discounts, with buyers saving $20 from the iPad Mini with Retina Display by having an active .edu email account.

It is normal practice for Apple to reduce the prices of current models before the release of a newer one, shares Inquisitr.
