The International Franchise Association Berlin 2014 is the most anticipated consumer trade show to date as the event would be the perfect venue where technology giants like Apple, Motorola, LG and Asus would be debuting their new wearables. Asus, on the other hand, is poised to be the wearable to beat, especially for consumers who wish to have that smartwatch experience without breaking the bank.

The smartwatch from Asus, which is allegedly designed to be the "thinnest, sleekest wearable to date," will reportedly be unveiled in September 3 at IFA in the German city. Although there is no word yet circulating in the industry regarding its specifications, Asus is reportedly aiming to introduce the smartwatch as a functional yet inexpensive new toy, at a price tag between $99 and $149, which is $300 cheaper than the other wearables being primed to be introduced in the trade show. According to Gear Burn, the lack of news about the Taiwanese manufacturer's rumored smartwatch is apparently because they have adapted a strategy similar to Apple's, which is "waiting for as long as possible to release a device to market." Moreover, Christian Post noted a social media post by Asus teasing about the rumored smartwatch's release at the trade show. The tweet read, "Something #incredible is going to happen at #IFA2014."

Hallels also wrote in its report about the smartwatch's purported specificatons, "Asus posted what looks like a mostly black image with a rounded square watch face in the background. It has in its foreground words quoted by Khalil Gigran, 'Time has been transformed and we have changed.'"

Android Community also reported that the smartwatch will allow users to use voice and control gestures alongside natural-looking interfaces.

Should Asus' smartwatch be released this September, Christian Post says that it will be up against the hyped Moto 360 smartwatch. Hallels listed Moto 360 as the first smartwatch to have a round face and will allegedly come with a price tag of $250, making it the most expensive smartwatch yet. The article also said that LG is also set to release its G Watch to retail at $229 while the new Samsung Gear would be selling at $199. Samsung also plans to release Gear Solo at the event, which is said to be a standalone wearable that could work on its one without the support of a smartphone. Apple's iPhone 6 and the alleged iWatch or iTime are also rumored to be released at IFA, which could give Asus tough competition in terms of specifications.
