Few upcoming Nintendo titles are currently generating as much excitement as the new Wii U installment of the classic "Legend of Zelda" series. But Nintendo, as always, is playing coy with the details. When will the game be released? When will they be debuting new footage? And who was that mystery protagonist from the first trailer, who only slightly resembled series hero Link?

Well, if KpopStarz is to be believed, we might have a few answers to all those many questions.

A report from the site alleges that "The Legend of Zelda Wii U," as it's being called for now (presumably, Nintendo will one day add a colon and a subtitle- "The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker," or "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask") will have a release date in early 2015.

As well, KpopStarz attests that the game will be playable at next year's E3, which begs the question: How early is "Early 2015?" Because if the game releases before next June, an appearance at E3 is probably going to be a moot point.

The same report also claims that the new Link will be a girl, although it does follow-up with a disclaimer that those claims are unsubstantiated.

However, the International Digital Times also confirms that this new "Zelda" protagonist "may not necessarily be Link," so it may be that Nintendo is trying to forge a new path with the latest "Zelda" game.

In other "Zelda" news, Nintendo has just announced a special, limited edition version of Monopoly with a "Legend of Zelda" theme. Announced through Gamespot, the board game has a slew of Hyrule locations and pieces, as well as a few extra tokens that are exclusive to copies of the game bought through Gamespot.

With this and "Hyrule Warriors" releasing for the Wii U shortly, "Zelda" fans should have plenty to occupy their time for the next few months.
