After the announcement of "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" movie reboot, numerous rumors as to who will be part of the cast appeared on the web, KpopStarz reports. Some of the names that were linked to the movie include A-list Hollywood actors.

Liam Hemsworth and Taylor Lautner were initially reported to be the top choices for the "Red Ranger," Power Rangers' leader. Recent reports claim it will be Hemsworth who will play the role.

Chloe Moretz has accepted Lionsgate offer to star as "Pink Ranger" a.k.a. Kimberly Hart, MTV News reports. The report claims that the actress is excited to play her role.

Recent reports suggest that the movie will also star Jack Gleeson as "Blue Ranger," Michael B. Jordan as "White/Green Ranger," Roshon Feegan as "Black Ranger," and Jamie Chung as "Yellow Ranger."

Jason David Frank, who was part of the original Power Rangers cast also confirmed that he will be part of the upcoming movie reboot. Frank will be acting as the mentor and trainer of the rangers.

"MADtv" comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele will also be part of the cast as "Skull" and "Bulk." Zack Braff was also reported to play "Alpha 5."

Academy Award winner Meryl Streep is supposed to have accepted the role of evil alien witch, "Rita Repulsa."

"Dark Knight Rises" star Tom Hardy will be "Goldar," the alien general, while "X-Men: Days of Future Past" star Michael Fassbender will play evil galactic conqueror, "Lord Zedd."

While Saban and Lionsgate have not made any official announcement as to the final set of actors, online news sites have been mentioning these names as part of the 90's children classic movie reboot.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer and Power Rangers producer Haim Saban made the announcement on May. "Lionsgate is the perfect home for elevating our Power Rangers brand to the next level," Saban announced. "They have the vision, marketing prowess and incredible track record in launching breakthrough hits from 'The Hunger Games' to 'Twilight' and 'Divergent.'"

While Feltheimer added, "The Power Rangers stories and characters have been embraced by generations of audiences for more than 20 years, and today they are more powerful than ever."

A Facebook fan page claims the movie is set for release on April 2015.
