It's been nearly thirty years since the last "Mad Max" film was in theaters, but the upcoming "Mad Max: Fury Road" is finally making its way towards a theatrical debut. Even that wasn't the easiest task, given that the film has been in production for almost five years and was shot nearly three years ago, yet won't release until summer 2015.

Finally, though, "Mad Max" fans are starting to get a glimpse of what this future sequel might look like. According to a new piece in IndieWire, "Mad Max: Fury Road" director George Miller dropped a few new details about his upcoming sequel (Miller, of course, directed the three original "Mad Max" films of the '70s and '80s). Tom Hardy will play the titular role, originated by actor Mel Gibson, with Charlize Theron co-starring.

According to Miller, the first footage from "Fury Road" will appear at Comic-Con, and a teaser trailer will arrive in the "near future."

Entertainment Weekly also published a recent story with new details about the sequel. From there article, we know the basic structure of the film- and not's not exactly typical. Says director Miller:

"I wanted to tell a linear story- a chase that starts as the movie begins and continues for 110 minutes. 'Fury Road' features few digital effects and even less dialogue. In this crucible of very intense action, the characters are revealed."

Miller added to IndieWire, "To not have to rely on dialogue...I knew right off the bat that this was going to be like a huge ballet."

A major issue in releasing footage at Comic-Con, of course, is that the general public will not be able to see it- only those behind the closed doors of the Comic-Con presentation will see the first footage from "Fury Road."

Comic-Con footage sometimes finds a way of getting out, whether it be through leaks and cameraphones, or from a conscious effort from the studio. Hopefully, that's what the film's teaser trailer, to be released somewhere around Comic-Con, will provide.

Warner Bros has already begun teasing the film to other outlets, so there may be a chance the footage would hit the internet legitimately.
