Amazon has launched a new AI tool designed to quickly answer customer queries about a product, marking another step in the company's exploration of generative AI.

According to CNBC, the feature, embedded in Amazon's mobile app, encourages users to pose questions about a specific item, generating prompt responses within seconds. The AI tool summarizes information extracted from both product reviews and the item listing.

Amazon spokesperson Maria Boschetti told CNBC that introducing this feature aligns with the company's commitment to innovation to enhance customers' shopping experiences.

The tool's primary function is to streamline the process of obtaining information about a product, sparing users from scrolling through pages of reviews or through a listing to find information about a product.

Marketplace Pulse, an e-commerce research firm, was the first to use this AI tool.
