'Black Panther' leading man Chadwick Boseman makes his first ever Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) appearance on the official trailer of 'Captain America: Civil War'. Boseman is set to play T'Challa a.k.a. Black Panther on the upcoming Marvel standalone film scheduled for 2018.

According to HitFix, Chadwick Boseman is finally introduced into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as the famous T'Challa. The debut of the official trailer of the upcoming 'Captain America: Civil War' showed Boseman clad in superhero garb as he is entangled in the impending fight between Chris Evans' Captain America and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man.

The third installment in the 'Captain America' series features the conflict between two powerful superheroes, members of the Avengers, as they defend their opposing factions. According to the Independent, the new film will follow the events of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'. Iron Man is allegedly hunting down Cap for saving Bucky in the previous film.

It remains unclear if Black Panther would join Captain America's team or Iron Man's. However, Cinema Blend highlighted a scene where Black Panther plants a potentially lethal high kick on Bucky Barnes a.k.a. Winter Soldier. This led to speculations that the ruler of Wakanda would most likely be an Iron Man ally.

Boseman's superhero was seen clad head-to-toe in a classic black suit. In the comic books, his costume is woven with Vibranium making it bulletproof. His gloves can generate energy daggers and his boots allow him to run on the sides of buildings, walk through water or slice through metal.

T'Challa was a member of the Avengers and was also a temporary member of the Fantastic Four. He is considered Marvel's first ever non-white to reach a mainstream audience. He was married to X-Men member Storm before their marriage was annulled in 'Avengers vs. X-Men'.

'Black Panther' is a planned standalone superhero film scheduled to be released on February 16, 2018. It will feature Chadwick Boseman in the titular role of T'Challa a.k.a. Black Panther, leader of the fictional technologically advanced nation of Wakanda. Although the film does not have a director as of the present, its screenplay is being written for the big-screen by Joe Robert Cole.
