Ever since "A Dance with Dragons" arrived in 2011, fans have been craving for George R.R. Martin to provide updates about "Winds of Winter." Now, with new reports emerging, it seems that the latest "Game of Thrones" book has finally arrived in the publishing house. In fact, Spanish editor Alejo Cuervo is really certain that it will arrive 2016 unless, of course, "a meteorite falls".

It is known that George R.R. Martin has always been coy in giving some details about "Winds of Winder." However, according to Inquisitr, the 67-year-old author went to tease fans by writing on his blog, "And while I will be traveling, my army of minions will be here at the old homestead, toiling in the paper mines." Martin's statement has opted fans to think that the book is indeed in the publishing house.

Previous reports predict "Winds of Winter's" release date being possible next year, especially that Polish translator Michael Jakuszewski was told to free up his schedule in order to translate the book before this year ends. In fact, as what Christian Post said, Jakuszewski confirmed that Zysk publishing house has indeed asked him to be cognizant of his timetable.

Meanwhile, to further put a stamp, Australian Network News reported that Alejo Cuervo, the editor of the Spanish publication Ediciones Gigamesh, claimed that the book "is expected next year." The publishing house was even "promised the manuscripts in advance" prior to the release date in English. Cuervo was somehow positive that "Winds of Winter" will come 2016, "unless a meteorite falls."

As for "Game of Thrones Season 6," which will premiere much later, the show must air new episodes before May 2016 ends. This is to ensure its Emmy crown. The show nabbed the Outstanding Drama Series award after beating nine competitors.

Although fans might be skeptical about the release date of "Winds of Winter," news about the sixth installment's progress seems to be a beacon of hope for them. Well, that of course, if a meteorite doesn't interrupt as what Alejo Cuervo suggested.

What are your thoughts about the release of "Winds of Winter?" Will it be this 2016? Let us know at the comments below.
