Bethesda's action-fantasy RPG, Elder Scrolls, has been recently regarded by fans as one of the anticipated games. While no single news have been surfacing regarding a possible existence of an Elder Scrolls 6, dedicated fans and sites have hinted some details of the game's possible 2019 release.

With Bethesda's release of the Elder Scrolls Online in 2015, it is unlikely to expect Elder Scrolls 6 in 2016. Furthermore, there is not a single official statement yet for an Elder Scroll 6's existence. However, it is now widely speculated in the gaming community that a sixth installment of the Elder Scrolls numbered title has been in development. Since it is widely known that Bethesda releases a game every four years, it could be inferred that the Elder Scrolls 6 could possibly be released by 2019, following the 2015 release of the Elder Scrolls Online. Nevertheless, Latinos Post commented that if Bethesda aims for quality, then it will be natural for the company to take a number of years before a game's release

In a statement, Vice President for Press Release and Marketing Pete Hines said: "It's rare to have franchises like the ones we have and to have people joking about when is Skyrim 2 coming out? The reason they say that is because generally speaking that's what you'd be getting with another publisher in charge." He added: "They'd be spitting out a Skyrim 2 the year after or two years later. That's just not how we view it. We're not the sort of publisher that focusses on 'what's our 25 titles for 2015." In this interview with The Telegraph, Hines did mention Skyrim 2. And as we all know, Skyrim is referred to as the Elder Scrolls 5.

But whenever Hines is directly asked on when does an Elder Scroll 6 coming out, he always answers that they are focusing on Fallout 4 at the moment. According to Crossmap, Ubisoft recently made a survey among the gaming community regarding the games they wanted to be released anytime soon. Most gamers have answered Elder Scrolls 6 or Skyrim 2 interchangeably. However, as for the rumor; it was clarified that Bethesda simply does not intend for a release anytime soon and the game might probably be under development.

It may take a while for the Bethesda to have an official update regarding a possible Elder Scrolls 6 and may take more years for its release. What fans are trying to hold on as the moment is Hine's statement mentioning Skyrim 2.
