Elder Scrolls 6 Update: Elder Scrolls Online to only run 30fps on Xbox one, PS4? Summerset Isle the new game setting?

Bethesda has been frugal with the information regarding Elder Scrolls 6. One particular debate about Elder Scrolls 6 is whether it should follow the footsteps of Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim or the older Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. It is also said that Elder Scrolls 6 will disappointingly only run in 30 fps. The setting of the game has been changed too to a new place called Summerset Isle.

Although Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has been regarded as one of the greatest games ever made, players have commented on how it is not as engaging as Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind. Skyrim lacked immersion. This is mostly due to the failure of the game to engage its players with the campaign's plot line. Because of this, players were not as absorbed with the missions and not as interested to explore beyond the game's narrative.

Thus, some players prefer to see Elder Scrolls 6 patterned with Morrowind instead of Skyrim as they hope to find the latest instalment in the series to be as engaging as Morrowind. Skyrim has been the most successful entry in the series though, so perhaps developer Bethesda did something right with Skyrim that would best remain in future entries.

One huge let-down in the upcoming game is that despite it being on the next gen Xbox One and PS4 consoles, it will only deliver 30 fps. This is a disappointing rate considering that next gen games usually run on 60 fps, especially multiplayer online games where speed matters a lot.

"Being an online MMO, we really expected that the Elder Scrolls Online to be capable of delivering at least 60 FPS. After all, other platforms, especially the PC has gone way ahead and it is only proper to let them enjoy this much on Playstation 4. But, after going through the huge world and the game play aspects, we found that it is like stretching it to its limits which is not good in the long run. So, there was no option but to settle with 30 FPS," Elder Scrolls 6 developers explained.

It is also said that Elder Scrolls 6 will no longer be set in the world of Tamriel. Instead, the game will be in a new beautiful new location named Summerset Isle. The new place is expected to successfully deliver the fantasy experience that Elder Scrolls is known for.

Elder Scrolls 6 had been previously hinted by Bethesda to be released in late 2015 but has pushed back the release window to the first quarter of 2016. As of now, not much detail about the game is known but it is expected to make an appearance at the 2015 E3 this June.
