'The Hateful Eight' actors Kurt Russell talked about their experiences working with director Quentin Tarantino. Russell revealed that the previously leaked script, which prompted Tarantino to drop the project at first, was totally different from the film they just shot. Jackson also described the way the filmmaker directed his cast on various scenes.

According to What Culture, the film's first test screening elicited some strong reactions from its lucky audience. It was reported by a tweet from Film Stage's official account posted September 19, 2015. Quentin Tarantino's latest masterpiece was said to resurrect the Western film-genre, which was originally noted to have faded away in the past couple of years - or even decades.

The film gathered an all-star ensemble with Hollywood heavyweights such as Kurt Russell and Samuel L. Jackson, who portray John Ruth "The Hangman" and Major Marquis Warren "The Bounty Hunter" respectively, thrown in the mix. Other cast members to complete the titular eight include Jennifer Jason Leigh as Daisy Domergue "The Prisoner", Walton Goggins as Chris Mannix "The Sherriff", Demian Bichir as Bob "The Mexican", Tim Roth as Oswaldo Mobray "The Little Man", Michael Madsen as Joe Gage "The Cow Puncher", and finally Bruce Dern as General Sandy Smithers "The Confederate".

Back in January 2014, the film's script was reportedly leaked which temporarily prompted an angry Tarantino to consider dropping production and turning it into a novel instead. However, he pursued the project and wrote extra drafts with altered endings. According to Purple Revolver, Kurt Russell revealed that the leaked version of 'The Hateful Eight' was much different from the one they filmed.

He said, "But the changes are spectacular. I see now why he was mad about it being leaked, because he was in the process of working it. He wasn't anywhere near done yet... He made significant changes in terms of what the first act is, and leading up to it. This is not different, but it's fleshed out-it's a matured version of it." Russell also called working with the cast and crew "the greatest experience I've ever had."

Russell's co-star Samuel L. Jackson also expressed his enthusiasm with working with the filmmaker, according to an article by Cinema Blend. He said that Tarantino's directing style was unique - bordering on peculiar yet fascinating - and that he would use various film references to describe how a scene should be played out. Jackson and Tarantino are frequent collaborators having worked together on previous projects such as 'Django Unchained', 'Inglorious Basterds', 'Kill Bill' and 'Pulp Fiction'.

'The Hateful Eight' is an upcoming Western film set in post-Civil War America written and directed by Tarantino. It is scheduled to be released on January 8, 2016. The story revolves around eight strangers stranded in a stagecoach stopover high in a mountain pass during a blizzard.
