Apple has sold more than 13 million units of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus on its first three days of sale. This sales record surpassed last year's trade of iPhone 6, thanks to the help of the Chinese market.

The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Apple has retailed more than 13 million pieces of iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models making it up by 30% from the launch sales of the iPhone 6 last year, thus making a new record for the company.

The Apple Inc. didn't give a model or regional breakdown for the sales of the latest iPhone, which hit the market last Friday. Analysts had projected sales between 12 million and 13 million and had noted that the phone's immediate availability in China boosted the first-weekend sales. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 didn't begin selling in China until a month after its initial launch that may be the cause why the 6s and 6s Plus broke the last year's record.

Moreover, The Guardian said on their report that there were analysts who put sales in China at between 3 million and 4 million units, leaving sales elsewhere essentially flat year-over-year.

The tech giant has allowed 16 days for its presale period as the phone officially went on sale 25 September. It will continue to roll out  in other countries around the world through October.

Bloomberg said on their article that the Apple's ability to build such demand for its flagship product every year is exceptional in global business. Some of the company's avid fans were spending a week or more waiting to be the first to have the handset on their hands. The average selling price for an iPhone last quarter was $660; this does not include carrier subsidies. This figure could be translated to about $8.5 billion in revenue over the past 72 hours for Apple Inc.

Apart from the contribution of China, the enhancements made in the latest device might have also encouraged the consumers to purchase the products. Currently, the record-breaking sales of iPhones 6s and 6s Plus is expected to continue increasing in the coming days.
