Bourne 5 to be titled 'Betrayal'? Latest set photos reveal Matt Damon filming action sequence, Ato Essoh joins cast

Filming for the upcoming Bourne 5 is currently under way in Tenerife, Spain and new set photos reveal Matt Damon filming for an action scene. 'Django Unchained' actor, Ato Essoh was also confirmed to be the latest addition to the cast.

Daily Mail recently revealed photos of Damon as he reprises his role as the amnesiac ex-black ops officer Jason Bourne in the upcoming instalment of the franchise. The photos feature Damon as he films an action scene where he rides a police motorbike in the streets of Tenerife while it was supposedly raining and flames are scattered in the streets.

Aside from Damon, the cast also includes Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel,  Tommy Lee Jones, Julia Stiles, along with  Ato Essoh as  the latest addition. According to /Film like Vikander, Essoh's character is also under wraps. Stiles will reprise her role as Nicky Parsons while Jones is said to star as a CIA high-rank officer, and Cassel is set to play as the villain who will chase after Bourne.

The film's plot is currently vague, but according to Damon, it will be set in the post-Snowden Europe. In a report by Movie News Guide, Damon was also cited revealing that it will include the themes of espionage, and national intelligence.

"You get national security elements there, and big business like the Facebooks and the Googles, and the hacker community. That kind of convergence",  Damon said. "I feel like it's in the world we're living in, a post-Snowden, WikiLeaks kind of world.", he added.

Aside from Spain, principal photography for the film will also be set in Greece and Las Vegas among other locations. Paul Greengrass is helming the upcoming Bourne 5 which is also rumored to be titled, "The Bourne Betrayal". Damon and Greengrass wrote the film's script along with Christopher Rouse. It is set to hit theaters on July 29, 2016
