Emma Watson has been largely silent on her new role as Belle in 'Beauty and the Beast', apart from her announcing that she will playing said role. Finally, Emma Watson talks about her newest role, singing 3 new songs as the Beauty in the tale as old as time. Luke Evans, who plays Gaston, also describes how it was filming alongside Watson, saying the actress is a triple threat.

In an interview with Movie'n'Co UK, Emma Watson revealed that 3 new songs were written by Allan Menken for the film. Aside from new music, 'Beauty and the Beast' differs with its animated classic in terms of story depth, citing that the movie is more "layered" and tells "parts of the story" that were untold in the animation.

Never having done it before, Watson also gushed on how it was "so fun to get to sing." Aside from singing, she also learned dancing and horseriding. The British actress also added that "Beauty seems like a completion of a nice little circle" that started with Hermione. Starting from playing as a child in Harry Potter, the Hermione's role felt like a transition into playing as a woman and womanhood, which she embodies in 'Beauty and the Beast'.  Watson also said that both Belle and Hermione are her personal heroines, and playing both of them is "very unusual" and "quite special."

Watson's co-star Luke Evans, playing Gaston, also revealed what a "feisty" woman she is to MTV. Describing her as "wonderful" and "great", Evans thinks Watson is the epitome of "what Belle should be in the 21st century"  to young girls. He also added that Emma Watson's strength and voice as a woman  that she uses effectively, is brought to her portrayal of Belle, making her not just a delicate Disney Princess, but so much more than that.

Having a "beautiful sensitive side to her", Watson's Belle is also a "strong, feisty woman"  which makes for "fantastic scenes" with Gaston. Evans also attests to Emma Watson's singing prowess, and says she has a "great singing voice to boot" making her a "triple threat".

Meanwhile, a hint at a redesigned Beast was teased with a crew T-shirt design. According to Den of Geek, the artwork shows that this Beast might have a "more human face." This led to suggestions that Dan Stevens, who plays the role of Prince Adam/Beast, will be show up in make-up and other necessary and not a mask or through "some kind of motion capture."

Aside from Watson, Stevens and Evan, Ewan McGregor, Emma Thompson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci and Kevin Kline are part of the live action adaptation of the classic. 'Beauty and the Beast' will be released on March 17, 2017, and more news is expected as it inches closer to that date.
