The release of the Android 5.1.1 version for Sony's pioneer M2 line-up is fast approaching. This array is consisting of the Xperia M2, M2 Dual and M2 Aqua.

According to the Gospel Herald, this software update was already released for the flagship smartphone series of Sony which is Xperia Z1, Z1 Compact, and Z Ultra. This upgrade was also made available for mid-range devices such as the Xperia C3 and T2 Ultra.

In a recent post, Latinos Post discussed improvements that Android 5.1.1 will bring to smartphones. There will be an integration of LinkedIn with Contacts and Calendar application. Improvements in speed and accuracy in superior auto mode is also one of the noticeable enhancements. An improved enterprise support for Xperia is another development in which one good example is that users can now have instant calendar events they can create which lets them share through email. Settings have been enhanced with better menu icons and more options for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi quick settings. This update provides support for clicking images with the aid of a Sony SmartWatch 3, since many users currently use the SmartWatch 3 as a remote shutter button for taking pictures.

Gospel Herald added other advances that Lollipop 5.1.1 carries, one of which is a fix for reported memory leak issues, and more significantly, a solution to the dangerous Stagefright vulnerability.

IBTimes gave a list of other Sony devices that will receive the Android 5.1.1 update which are the following: Xperia Z4, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3+ Dual, Xperia Z3 (Z3 Dual), Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR, and Xperia Tablet Z.

The release of the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 version will be made available for the M2 line-up and this update will bring enhancements to the user experience for Xperia M2, M2 Dual and M2 Aqua.
