The HTC One M9 and M8 will be updated using the much-awaited Android Marshmallow version rather than the Lollipop version. Pocket-lint released its own comparison of the two flagships released by HTC. When you first look at the appearance of the two devices, it seems that nothing is different between the two. But there are actually differences in terms of battery life and camera. The M9 has a larger battery and is more powerful than the predecessor but the said battery doesn't last that long. Camera is still the weakness of both devices; although M9's front camera is enhanced, it still doesn't show better photos.

Meanwhile, both of these gadgets were rumored not to utilize the Android 5.1.1 version but instead will be using the Marshmallow version believed to be released by Google this month or the next, as reported by Gospel Herald.

This rumor was also confirmed by HTC Corporation's Senior Communication Manager Jeff Gordon on his Twitter account last May. Since HTC is one of the first smartphone brands to use the predecessor versions of Android, it is believed that they are still among the brands to first to use Android M with the M8 and M9.

Even though the release of the Android M is not yet confirmed, every smartphone user will be thrilled and excited to experience the new Android version as it is said to bring big changes to Android devices especially with its Application Program Interface (API). Other probable changes include auto backup and restore for apps, a new face for the app drawer, RAM manager for the OS update, and a dark theme option for the menu background.
