On Monday, game developer Treyarch revealed that the upcoming first-person shooting game "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will not support the stats transfer feature. This means that last-gen console users cannot transfer any saved data into upgraded current-gen consoles such as the PS4 and Xbox One.

There are numerous features that fans could look forward to for "Black Ops 3," unfortunately, data transfer will not be one of them. According to Gamespur, an avid fan asked David Vonderhaar via Twitter if the data transfer from old and new-gen consoles will be available, the Treyarch's game design director responded to the query with a short and shocking "No." Aside from this confirmation, game developers have not released any information regarding the matter. This means that any previous data in the last-gen consoles like the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will not be transferred to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The news certainly came as a shock to fans, especially when the previous "Call of Duty" installments "Ghosts" and "Advanced Warfare" supported this feature. Geek Snack has stated that the previous installments allowed the transfer of multiplayer stats into same family consoles such as the PS3, PS4 Xbox 360 and Xbox One. So for those planning to avail the game, upgrading into current-gen consoles would mean starting from scratch and playing the game from the very beginning.

In other news, last month's beta release became successful both for the console and PC versions. After its beta release, the game developers spilled further details into the game. In an exclusive interview with Dual Schockers, Vonderhaar mentioned some improvements in the game's UI, UX engine and artificial intelligence.

"There has been tremendous work in the lighting, and the deferred renderer. I think that's a lot of where that good look comes from is in the deferred rendering, the lighting and HDR stuff that's going in there," he said. "There's always been AI engine improvements, the UI and UX engine has been completely overhauled for this project, there's a new tool for that. When you go to a new console generation you have to go and make sure that you're working hard to take advantage of the new graphics capabilities of the next generation."

This may push die-hard "Call of Duty" fans to switch to the latest game consoles in order to play the game.  "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is slated for release on November 6 for the PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
