"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" is approching a great victory for Katniss Everdeen and her allies in a major success for the movie in the blockbuster. With the franchise' is expected to earn a massive $3 billion in gross. Will this success push Lionsgate to develop another "Hunger Games" film?

According to an article reported by Movie News Guide, the three preceding movies in the franchise have earned cumulatively a total of $2.307 billion in box office earnings. The only gap between that figure and $3 billion is roughly $700,000. With that premise, an assessment follows that sales for the forthcoming "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will push forward for at least $3 billion as the series' total earnings.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" is the last part of the movie series adapted from Suzanne Collins' "Hunger Games' trilogy. The film was drawn out to four installments and a rumor going around that a sequel is possible beyond the current Hunger Games film. If there is truth on that, Lionsgate may come up with another Hunger Games  movie in the future; especially if the "Mockingjay Part 2" will garner huge success for the studio.

Lionsgate's CEO Jon Feltheimer had, in February, revealed that they were already in discussions about taking the story to a different direction with the completion of the franchise.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" will show Katniss and the District 13 rebellion rallying to the capitol. However, President Snow prepared his game creators who are behind the creation of the arenas for the Hunger Games. They devised traps and obstacles intended to stop Katniss group and make a show out of their defeat.

Katniss is flanked by her allies, including her Hunger Game ally Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and her childhood bestfriend Gale (Liam Hemsworth). Fans can expect an action-packed finale as Francis Lawrence, the film's director, excites the fans about the action scenes and explained how much time and effort went into producing the war scenes.

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2" is set to hit the big screen on Nov. 20, 2015.

Meanwhile, Collin's book series may have ended with "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay". But with a huge sum of potential earnings expected from the franchise's upcoming release, the studio may possibly consider the suggestion of making a follow-up film.
