Rolling Stone recognizes 2NE1’s CL among the “10 New Artists You Need To Know” , Explains why people should pay attention to the Korean artist

CL is said to be one of the most popular female rappers in Korea, and  poised for a major breakthrough in the U.S. come fall with a performance with Diplo, Skrillex, and will.i.am. And just recently, her hard work paid off. CL was chosen for Rolling Stone's "10 New Artists You Need To Know."

As mentioned by Inquisitr, Lee Chae Rin, better known as CL of popular K-pop group 2NE1 pursued her music career in the United States. She already performed  with Skrillex, Diplo, and will.i.am at the Mad Decent Block Part festival tour. She also successfully released her latest music video for "Doctor Pepper."

And just recently, CL got more attention for her latest solo career as Rolling Stone featured the artist on their official web page. Truly, CL got her recognition and a mention on the Rolling Stone website, CL is one of the "10 New Artists You Need To Know."

Rolling Stones pointed out why they chose the artist to be recognized. The two reasons which made them decide on featuring the Korean rapper is that her manager being Scooter Braun, the man who's responsible for Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande's fame. Secondly, CL claimed that she doesn't box herself into one specific style or label.

The magazine also mentioned that people should pay attention to CL as she's "one of the buzziest female rappers in Korea, and she's poised for a major breakthrough in the U.S. come fall with a debut EP out on Mad Decent." CL told Rolling Stone, "I don't actually like calling myself a rapper. I'm more a performer. I don't like to box myself into anything, because I also sing and I love to dance; I do everything."

The Korean Times also mentioned the solo artist's desire to serve as an example for other K-pop stars looking to break big globally. She stated, "I'd want to, of course, because I am Korean and, after Psy, there are no Asian artists out here doing music. I would love to represent Asian girls and be an example or an idol for girls."

And now, even if the 24-year old is just starting to break in the U.S. entertainment industry, CL has already proved her spot as a new solo artist. And in fact, many of her fans from different parts of the world are praising the artist for her vocals in Diplo's "Doctor Pepper".
