As for the film's plot, despite the lack of updates, speculations have made their rounds that Thor might pass on his powers to a female character in the franchise. According to rumors, Thor might die in the upcoming movie and so he might pass on his powers to either Dr. Jane Foster, or Lady Sif.

Rumor mill suggest that if Jane Foster becomes the Female Thor, she could either inherit Thor's powers after he dies. Another rumor suggests that he might choose on his own to give up his powers so he could pass it on to Jane.

Meanwhile, there are also rumors that says Lady Sif might become the next female Thor after Jaimie Alexander, revealed that her character will play a significant role in the upcoming film. However, it is worth noting that the news about a Female Thor have not been confirmed yet, and must be treated with a grain of salt.
