Red Dead Redemption 2 from Rockstar Games is touted to be Take-Two Interactive's upcoming AAA title confirmed to arrive in 2016 since the last large scale project that was released from the renowned game developer was GTA 5 back in 2013.

Take-Two Interactive has officially announced that it will launch a new AAA title and game pundits strongly speculate that it could be Rockstar Games' long-awaited sequel to the well-received Red Dead Redemption title.

This news was confirmed during Take-Two's quarterly earnings call where president Karl Slatoff tackled the company's future fiscal year plans including a bunch of projects that are on the table, Venture Beat wrote.

The future titles such as Mafia 3, XCOM 2, andBattleborn had already been confirmed, although, these games are not AAA titles which get the biggest budget for development, level of production, and have the largest potential to become the bestselling games of a given year.

The prolific GTA 5 leakster and YouTube user MrBossFTW keenly noted that Rockstar Games has been releasing one large scale project each year since 2002. He added that if this pattern will hold, then a 2016 release date will be plausible for Red Dead Redemption 2 to follow launching of the latest GTA game.

iDIgital Times quoted Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick saying, "I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It's obvious that GTA is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others," said Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick.

These slew of speculation, leaks, rumors and this time a confirmed AAA title arriving in 2016 from Take-Two Interactive could be all added up to support the imminent release of the highly awaited release of Red Dead Redemption 2. The original title being one of top games voted for Xbox One Backward compatibility, with no doubt, has proven a massive cult following to the popular Rockstar Games franchise.
