The Netflix original show "Sense8" has gotten a green light as per the production of the show's second season. This has come as a surprise as there has been no word for two months after the show's season 1 finale if it will be cancelled or if a second season will be on the works.

In a report by The Verge, the original sci-fi series produced by Andy and Lana Wachowskis, the announcement for "Sense8" season 2 was made via the show's Twitter account. A video was taken showing the cast announcing the good news by singing "Happy Birthday". The video came alongside a caption that read: "Birthdays are just the beginning. #sense8 is reborn." Fans of the show were concerned that there will no longer be a second season but they were surprised with the recent announcement.

The Wachowskis will still be working with writer J. Michael Straczynski but there have been no official details yet as to what are expected of the show's upcoming episodes. In a report by India West, the Wachowskis and Straczynski announced during the Television Critics Association summer press tour that they already planned what "Sense8" Season 2 will be about as they originally had in mind that the series will run for five or more seasons.

Straczynski shared during the panel, "The way that the Wachowskis and I tend to work - we created the show together and we are running the show together - we are long-thinking people. We look down the road and we say to ourselves, 'Where is this going to go?' ... Season one is like an origin story and season two has some particular arc and we figure it out from there. But to spoil that here would not be the best interest of the surprise at the end," Deadline reported.

"Sense8" includes cast members such as Aml Ameen, Brian J. Smith, Daryl Hannah, Doona Bae, Freema Agyeman, Jamie Clayton, Max Riemelt, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Tina Desai, and Tuppence Middleton. It is yet to be known if they will still be featured in the show's second season. There is no official word yet as to when Season 2 will be shown on Netflix.
