UFC Women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has revealed that she would love to play the superhero, Miss Marvel, in "Captain Marvel" movie, expected to hit theaters in 2018.

There may still have three years left before "Captain Marvel" hits the big screen, but the fans are already curious as to about who will be cast as the titular superhero. While there are numerous actresses already linked to the said role, another name has been added to the list recently.

During a Reddit AMA, Mixed Martial Artist and UFC Women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has revealed that she is interested in taking the role of the heroine. "Well... a lot of the good ones have been taken, but I'd like to vie for Miss Marvel," the 28-year-old said.

For those who are not familiar, Miss Marvel is the reincarnation of the comic book character Carol Danvers. She made her debut in the graphic novels in 1968's "Marvel Super-Heroes #13. According to Movie Webb, she used to be a United States Air Force security chief right before an explosion exposed her to Kree technology and turned her into Captain Marvel. She is known to have superhuman abilities that include strength and flight. Those were said to have surfaced after her DNA was infused with a Kree alien.

If Rousey lands the role, "Captain Marvel" will be her next feature film, following her biopic "My Fight/ Your Fight". The studio, however, still has not released a word yet regarding its casting. A few names though where already rumored to take on the role, including Katherine Winnick ("Vikings"), Jessica Chastain ("Crimson Peak"), Katee Sackhoff ("24"),  Bryce Dallas Howard ("Jurassic World") and Emily Blunt ("Edge of Tomorrow").

What is known for now is that Nicole Perman and Meg LeFauve have already boarded the project as screenwriters. "Captain Marvel" has no director for now but it is scheduled to be released on November 2, 2018.
